Default XJS - Project

I do wonder why I bought a v12 as a project for restoration, this one came to my attention as a running car but with several problems.

1). Seized Water Pump (so although I could see it running I couldn't leave it running due to overheating not great but there you go). Still deciding on whether or not to replace it with a refurb or to refurb it myself at the moment.

2). Oil Cooler. Got the replacement with the car the bumper and several ancillaries have been removed already so I can fit this as soon as I get the chance.

3). Nearside Wing has seen better days in fact much better days so today I drove 180 miles round trip to purchase two replacement wings for the car (got the second due to the price ).

4). Exhaust. Needs new gaskets at the junction at least once this is done we'll see if it needs welding or replacing completely I just want to make sure first.

5). Front Bumper Bar. This needs replacing but mostly on the nearside as its rusted away. I can pick these up relatively cheaply for a place 3 miles away so that's fine.

6. Rear nearside quarter panel (see other https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uarter-173007/) this needs some work.

Not too unhappy about the car but the list seems to only grow bigger.

Wes

Good luck with the renovation. The list will almost certainly grow.

It would be good idea to add the details of your XJS to your signature as there were many changes to the XJS over the years and getting advice will require model year.

Perfectly normal and expected

I make small lists, starting with the major items. When those are done I make a new list of less serious items, and finish those, and then another new list, repeat, repeat.

Soon enough you're down to just a few niggling details.

Cheers
