Higher up this thread I mentioned that I installed Revolvers with Pirelli PZeros etc.
I was unable to resolve the issue of the tires rubbing when on full or close to full lock.
I have actually pulled them off and reverted to the lattice wheels.
In addition to the rubbing issue, I noted that the Pirellis were w-a-y past their lifetime and the tires were far better (and newer) on the lattice.
The mind can play tricks but in my opinion the ride is better with the lattice. The appearance is also a matter of personal preference. I did install dust shields to keep the brake pad dust down.
So, even with 13mm spacers I could not loose the rubbing issue, and in fact it was worse !!
I have 5 revolvers (4 with tires) languishing in my garage !!!

Well, I've finally chosen my XJS' new tires. As I had previously stated, I suspected that the Pirelli tires on my XJS are not necessarily comfortable ride tires, which is exactly what I do NOT need when using the 17" Revolvers along with lower profile tires. Somebody seriously recommended the ride superiority of Continental tires, so I chose the proper line on the same spec as the previous Pzeros, that is 235/50 ZR17 and I'm super glad that I did. The ride improvement over the Pirelli's is quite noticeable, so I couldn't be any happier with the choice. And, with almost exactly the same measurements as the Pirelli's, they fit fairly snug, but they're just fine, plus I love the sexy tread pattern, far less boring thn the Pzeos.

Cheers,

So you are using 235/50/17's front and rear with no rubbing mounted on Revolver wheels? Do you have any spacers front or rear? I'm looking at a set of Revolvers for my 1996.
Thanks,
Hitch

Tires on the XJ-S must be large to look right in my opinion. My PreHE is on 215/70R15, which is original size for later cars, and I love the look.
It's not easy to see properly on photos due to the very dark paint, but you will get an impression on my pictures here: Pictures ? XJ-S

I tried the Revolvers on my 92 and, both with and without spacers on the fronts, they rubbed. (The rears had no clearance issues...) but the fronts were actually worse with spacers !! I changed my mind regarding the Revolvers and they sit in my garage unused and unloved:- I went back to the bog-standard rims.

Sorry, I missed out the tire size on the Revolvers I did try. They were/are 245/50ZR17 Pirelli PZeros. I should say that I found the ride firm, but acceptable, and if I had resolved the rubbing issue they could well have stayed on the XJS, however, I couldn't. See my previous comments further up this thread.
I wish I could be of more help.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
I'll try to call them by phone but first I'd like to know your experiences.
Thanks.

What year xjs do you have? Are you using any spacers at all? What size tire are you running?

Default xjs tire size

My xjs is a 1989..But all production xjs are the same. 5 holes with 2-3/4 in spaced. You will have to get the center hole ENLARGED to the size off the hub on the Jaguar..You maybe also have to add SPACERS (( i have 1/2 in thick spacers)) depending off the wheel offsett. to prevent the wheel to rub on the brake galiper Spacers you can find at speed shop.. Just borrow and try a wheel before you buy any. Hope this will help Yvon Tires are 225/70/r15 Nexens.. Cooper also have nice tires to fit
