Greg I just did the same thing as you. Great idea.



Seemed the easiest at the time and I wanted to use the same micro switch. I can't find one that has a steel pin and proper size terminals. Ie a chunky one for under bonnet use. I have bent the arm a bit so I get throttle enrichment then kick down. Like click then click and I like it so you can adjust when the kickdown come in. See how it goes. Love these little things that make a difference.

Yes the rod activates the switch. Simple flip of the switch, position, drill two holes and button up. Took 20 minutes and it's adjustable which is what I was after.

Thanks for all the help! Purring like a cat! Now, how do you free up the kick down part of the original cable? I’m a bit of a purest and would like it. To work again. 🤷‍♂️

It's probably just seized up. I'd try your favorite penetrating oil and see what happens
