XJS VIN
I found a 1993 XJS V12 with VIN "SAJNX234XSC197080". I thought the VINs of the XJS were sequential and the 19s didn't begin until 1994-95 year not 1993. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Maybe.
I'm not sure where 197xxx fits in the grand scheme of things.
But....
Is this a USA market car? Are you using a USA-based VIN decoding system?
Jaguar used a different VIN format for USA/North American cars. If it is a non-North American market XJS and you're trying to decode the VIN using a USA based decoder, things will be all bollixed up
Cheers

Its listed in the XJS Data as a US car. I believe in Lake City, Fl. British racing green. title year 1995, Built Browns Lane, Coventry. Left Hand, should be a 6.0. Convertible 2+2
Last 6 digits are the sequential serial number.

Don,
That VIN is the secondary VIN that had to be given to US cars. They also have a primary VIN which is the same structure as the UK cars . The last 6 numbers are the same being the sequential build. Whatever the seller says, and not withstanding how the US describe model years, that car was built about August 1994.
