Ok, I'm attempting to change the oils switch and sensor on an 82 xjs. It looks like the easiest way would be to move or remove the crossover tube to get better access to them. Is there anything I should know before starting this? ie over tightening or "common" things breaking when removing or installing. Also got my swaybar links today and if time permits, will be doing those tomorrow also. Thoughts on this as well. Thanks

If you can bear it, removing the throttle pedestal is the most important thing for access. Needing lots of small spanners, and endless patience in my case at least.

The most dangerous worry is that the actual ally casting that the sensors screw into will fracture. It is VERY important to support the casting against the undoing torque when you unscrew the sensors. If the sensors are immovable, unbolting the casting completely and undoing the sensors off car is probably best.

Thanks Greg, That's what I was thinking, and you've confirmed my notion.
