Default Price Plea: HID fog lights? 07 XK and other mods...

Hey guys, recently took possession of my '07 XK. First things first I want to give it some personal touches. Was wondering what kind of budget I'd need to do the following, if anyone has experience please chip in! Much appreciated?

1.) HID fog lights. What kind of bulbs does the XK use? Is this easy enough to do as DIY or is professional help required. Also, how much did you guys pay for it? Kit + labor?
2.) Matte black wrap, any ideas how much this would cost on the XK?

Thanks a million guys~

HID foglight kits are fairly inexpensive these days. The one I got for the XKR was on sale during cyber monday at $30.....normally $60. Have no problems with throwing a code or flickering. I got the 3000k yellow foglight kit. They are plug and play and they should be fairly easy to install but I've never installed them. My car was at the shop at that time and the front bumper was off to get to the front grills and so it was much easier for the shop to install the foglight kit.

The main thing is to buy a kit that won't throw a code or the lights flicker when it's on. My previous car's HID foglight kit...the lights would flicker which was a PITA and cost 3 times as much as the Jag's kit.

I know mine (XKR) are H3 bulbs but not sure if they are the same on the XK as they have a different housing.

I did the vinyl black wrap on the window trim and I think it was around USD$200....don't remember exactly.

Thanks! Seems like the HID mod is pretty cheap and straightforward.

I was talking about wrapping the entire car in matte. Seems like it'll be around $4000.

I noticed you modded your tail lights too in another thread. What was the total cost of that? Thanks~

Don't remember total labor as I had other things done during the same time but I'd say roughly $1,300-$1,400 installed if you buy the parts through Dan @ Nalley. Definately contact Dan as his pricing is the best!

BTW....I know a shop in the U.S. who is working on making a wiring harnass so it'll be plug and play. So essentially a 2010+ LED taillight kit with the resistors built in the wiring harnass. Once it's ready to go I'm sure it'll be posted on this forum.

BTW...if you're going to wrap your car in matted black...you can also consider getting it painted matted black a'la Jesse Jame's XKR.....

Wow! That's alot less than I expected. Budgeted around $3000 for the tail lights haha! Will probably wait for the harness and if I can't wait then just jump the gun.

The painted matte looks great, but I'm really leaning towards the wrap, can always get it undone if I don't like it in a few months :P

Thanks!
