Default 07 Shift gate removal question

I saw a post about how to do this , and yes Ive got the manual but its a pain to find the right info.

So, can someone point me to the post to get the shifter gate out.? Heres a Pic , I need the black pod, the one in the pick is in real good shape , as is the Trim and dont want to damage it.

I was able to get the trim ring off with some effort and no damage.

Pry up the wood fascia with a plastic removal tool and you can use the leather center console as leverage. It comes straight up. clips are located in the front and back corners (front are tougher) and also along the center - 6 total. Once removed you will see the mount screws.
leave the start switch and asl in place as there's enough wire beneath them that you can simply disconnect them once the fascia's removed.

I was considering that. the trim ring was a bear to get under , thumbnail then putty knife then prybar under that.

Yeah , Im just being cautious. , this is a junk yard car and they know that the trim is of value. the entire woodgrain trim is in really good condition and i dont wanna screw it up.

Dang , I didnt need to remove the trim ring me dummy.

Im looking at the workshop picks now. says 8 clips

The part that im not following is probably self explaining but says ,

10 . Remove the gear selector assembly. Carefully disconnect the selector cable ball joint. Remove the 4 Torx bolts. Release the electrical harness.

Pics would be nice

Once you have the leather panels on each side removed the rest is easy. Torx bolts are obvious. The only oddity is the selector cable. Just required jiggling the handle around some after you remove torx bolts. Examine the electrical cable routing carefully as you remove the unit, since you want to duplicate it during the replacement.

Important! Cover the bezel with padding and tape. If you scratch it you're screwed.
