Default 07 XK Fuel Rail

Gas odor in cockpit. Dealer said there is leak on fuel rail and it needs to be replaced. I aLos havemail check engine light and code indicates I need to replace thermostat. Very expensive for both parts and labor. Thermostat is cheap but OEM fuel rail alone is over $800. Any suggestions?

Try a dismantler or failing that there are some suppliers of OEM replacement parts that offer discounts to forum members

Depending on your Jaguar ownership and service history, you might be able to get some assistance in the cost of the parts, labor, or both by the dealer or Jaguar NA. It never hurts to ask.

MSRP on a new AJ811283 fuel rail is $803.40, but Gaudin Jaguar sells it for $702.98 http://www.gaudinjaguarparts.com/par...?siteid=214626
See if your dealer will meet that price.

Is it leaking at a cylindrical device (not the fuel injectors) attached to the fuel rail? If so, it is the pulsation damper that is leaking.

Members with later model XK8's with the 4.2 engine have had success having the pulsation damper capped. Injector RX Fuel Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing Service - Injector Rx will perform this service on the fuel rail and save you big $.
