07 XKR A/C not blowing cold, hot on passenger side
I have a 2007 XKR conv. There is a noticeable difference between blowing temps of driver and passenger. The driver side is cool but not cold but the passenger side blows warm/hot. I'd almost say that it's not a/c at all, just vent blowing in outside air, but considering on some days it's 110 out it seems that the a/c must be working at least a little.
I have scoured the forum looking for what/how to test before I take it to the mechanic... any suggestions? Should I actually hear the compressor kick on? Any fuses to check? This doesn't seem to be a freon level issue because is blows cool on the drivers side? Blend door sticking problem?

Here is what my invoice says:
Concern: Customer states A/C is blowing out warm air, started on passenger side and is now warm on both sides.
Causes: Liquid line leaking
Correction: Connected IDS NO Codes for A/C system, connected AC machine, found to be out of refridg dye, tested AC system found liquid line leaking, replace line vac and recharge system.
Parts:
JAG C2P3507 Hose Air
JAG R134RC R134 Recycled
Looks like this particular hose was about $160.00 and there was about 3 hrs labor to test, diagnose and replace. Luckily this was still under factory warranty.
Maybe you are just low on refrigerant, If I was out of warranty I think I would try that first.
Hope this helps.

The a/c compressor runs all the time. It says this in the owners manual. I think it will default to hot on pass side when the pressure drops on the system(I know it does on other makes). A simple freon sniffer should help you figure out where the leak is coming from. Mine did the same thing after I had the thermostat replaced. They never really told what they did only repaired it.

Yep. No run in ECON.
Original poster...........have you tried ramping the passengers side up as high as it will go, then as low as it will go and seen if there's a temp changed?
YOu might try ramping the drivers side all the way up and then all the way down to see if there is a dramatic change in temps. IF there is a definite sense of COLD air coming out the drivers side then you know the a/c freon/compressor is ok.
In case you didn''t know..........go to the screen and select Climate. The on the right side of the screen you will see where you can turn the a/c compressor off by selecting ECON. My memory isn't all that swell, but that's the way I remember it. Frankly I turn the a/c to ECON during the fall/winter. No need for it imho. If it gets hot...........turn it back on.
