Default 08 XKR foot well padding coming down?

Hi All,

Can you let me know how to get this padding back into place? I tried to figure it out but couldn't get it to stay in place.

Thanks,

If this is the fiber panel under the glove box it can be a bit of a chore to replace. After wiggling on my back into the foot well I removed mine completely and started all over with it. The front (nearest firewall) must go in first. It goes up above the upper edge of the carpet and must be wiggled around to make it slide into place. I found myself getting burned a little around the foot well light while tucking the edges up into place. Once it slide in though I simply aligned the three clip holes (just under the glove box) and snapped them back in place. When it in correctly it should be tucked flush and not be able to see any bulges or distorted edges. A look in the other foot well would be a good indicator of how it should appear.

If you had not removed those clips before you started, they simply take a little bit of effort to pull them out. Removing them is the only way to get the process of reinstalling the panel started.

There may be others who can shed some light on it as well.

Ah, thanks for reminding me, I'm missing some of those clips and need to find me some (think the part # may have been listed in some thread awhile ago).

Pretty much this. My lovely bride has an annoying habit of crossing her legs in the car, and wound up kicking mine to death. As the slot areas where the tabs are supposed to go are fragile and close to the edge of the panel, mine were torn loose. It was easier (for me) to order a new one and replace it than trying to repair the old one. IIRC, it was around $120 from the dealer. Let me know if you need to part # and I can grab it from the file.

Part # would be useful, as mine also has a torn slot, that a previous owner tried to repair with ducktape, yuk.

Part #C2P17130: Pad - Insulation. I lied like a rug on the price, though. $207.90 from the local dealer. A quick Google search will reveal that I overpaid quite a bit at it's available for $156 - $160.

Since this thread reminded me to get some of those clips, I did some searching, and it appears that the clips are a Ford part # W709688-S300.
They are available from multiple sources online, with single clip prices being about $0.66 as the lowest. I decided to order from clipsandfasteners.com for a pack of 25 for $7.05 (actually $11.72 with shipping):
https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Fo...0_p/a21790.htm

I'll update this thread when I get them, to indicate if they are correct or not.

Just ordered one from Jaguar Land Rover Reno Parts:
https://www.jaguarlandroverrenoparts...ation-c2p17130

Their price was $150.54, plus $18.67 shipping ($169.21), best price+shipping I could find.

Got the clips from 'clipsandfasteners', and they are an exact match for the ones I had left in the car. So get yourself some Ford W709688-S300 if you are missing clips under the dash to hold up that insulation.

Old clip on the left, new one on the right.

New clips have a bit more 'spring' to them than the old clips, so hopefully hold better.

Dimensions are identical to the old clips.

W709688-S300 Says 'Ford 2012 - On', but fits my 2007 XK perfectly.

The under glovebox panel/padding/insolation arrived today, and wouldn't you know, it came with the 3 clips already installed! Wasn't expecting that. Probably didn't need to buy that whole box of 'em, oh well, lots of spares!
