Default 09' XKR Portfolio or 10' XKR

I've been going back and forth on these cars. Just curious what you guys think.

09' XKR Portfolio - unique color, limited package(although I see a bunch for sale)
10' XKR - more hp, interior different(select a gear knob), other computer controlled differences(changes)

Seems to be an avg. $5-7k difference in the market currently. There are some 09's in the upper $40k's now (35k miles). Friend just bought a 10' XKR conv. for $55k with 20k miles...

I love the uniqueness of the Portfolio pkg (stitching, badging and the color), but having just driven a XKR 10' the power of the car and extra "stuff" is really nice. Just can't decide...

I would go with the '10. You have a lot more power and an additional year of warranty coverage.

55k? Nice deal there. Definitely a lot less than I paid for my '10 about a year ago. Mind you, mine only had 2k miles on it.

Yeah, $55k for that car was quite a steal.

Yeah, the additional warranty is a big bonus for sure. I'm holding tight, but will be curious as to the prices in Feb/March next year. I would think the price differential in the two won't change much, but factor in the warranty benefit then it could make it an incentive for dealerships to drop their prices or work Select edition them. Which would add value..

The '10 is the better choice. The motor is a complete redesign with more HP, torque & slightly better mileage...

Actually, I think the mileage is worse. But that may just be me with a fat and heavy foot. O.o

Surprised that nobody has mentioned that dynamic mode doesn't exist on the 2009 model. In the 2010+ models, dynamic mode allows you to control the transmission COMPLETELY manually, meaning that it won't even upshift when it hits redline, and (I presume) it won't kick down when you stomp on the pedal. The 4.2 XKRs will both upshift and kickdown, even in manual mode.

The extra power is nice, but on the street, I don't think it makes a really big difference. They are both still great sounding engines.
