Read an article in Road& Track and thier long test XK had the same glitch and they could not figure it out. It happened to thier test vehicle twice.

Me too. Happened Saturday after the Long Beach Grand Prix in my 07 XK Conv. Got in the car to a blank screen. Drove home (45 min) let the car sit for an hour and it was working fine?
My only thought was when I got in my car the temp was very hot?? Any ideas out there?? And of course a just hit 50K!

I had the same problem a couple of weeks after buying my 09. The dealer replaced what they refered to as a relay box and I haven't had a problem since(>1yr). They claimed that they had seen the problem before and this was the approiate fix

Default I just had the ACM (IPOD) connector installed in my 07 XK

The very next day my screen shut down. It would stay off for 48 seconds then come back on. Run for about 2 minutes then down again. I went to another dealership and they told me that the fan got shorted. I guess it was getting hot and would just shut down as a result. The dealer who did the install told me they couldn't get my car back in for 6 days!!!! That's why I called another dealership who was very sensitive to my situation and got me in immediately AND provided me with a loaner car so my I wouldn't be inconvenienced.

I've had mine and the screen froze a couple times where it had the jaguar logo on it, and the buttons were unresponsive. Of course I mentioned to dealer when it went in for service but of course it wouldn't happen when the techs looked at it.

Just happened to me for the first time the other day, stayed on the Jaguar screen for my whole trip, but was fine the next time I restarted the car.

A few times it's happened. Sometimes if I shut it off and restart car it's ok, usually it stays like that. Climate controls don't work or power button. Makes for a nice quiet ride to hear that exhaust growl hehe. I was thinking it's likely a software issue with the HU.

Cool

Is happening only on the convertibles? Or also on the coupes?

I have an '07 XK convertable. I have not had the issue with the main screen, but the LCD display between the speedo and tach sometime flips upside down. When it happens, I cannot force it to correct by truning the car off and back on, but usually it self corrects in a few minutes. There must be a software issue somewhere. Wierd huh?

UPDATE: Rosenthal Jaguar in Vienna Virginia resolved the issue by installing a cooling fan behind the LCD screen to keep the temp down. This is a known Jaguar issue TSB JTB00051 Install amplifier cooling fan.

Several variations happened to my with my newly acquired 2008 XK. First thing was the satellite radio want to keep on updating at random strange times, which locks up the system. A couple of times everything seemed to be fine except no input from climate control. Twice now the screen locked in screen saver mode. The second time resolved on its own after a while. The first, after a day of not turning off and not functioning, one of the Jag Techs recommeded and cold reset. Basically rebooted my car by disconnecting the battery for a few moments. Worked like a charm. Would like to have a better long term solution, but for now, at least I know I can handle it like my desk top computer. Guess the software programers for the Jags are PC's not Mac's. Best guess by the way is a faulty input from one of the many modules cannected to the head unit.
