2,500 mile check in
So I've had the XKR for a month and have driven 2,500 miles:
First: I did install a new battery and had new tires installed.
generally the car has been such a thrill. It's only used for special reasons an on the weekends.
I have had no electrical issues other than the bizarre things below.
A few quirks and things:
I once made the mistake of lowering the top without the engine running. This resulted in 7 ECU codes and a headlight and gearbox warning. Reset the codes and it all went away.
Today I went through a do it yourself car wash using a hand held power wash wand. The result was 14 ECU codes, CAT, Brake, headlight, charging and gearbox warning lights and messages and the paddles and sport mode won't engage. At first I couldn't leave the car wash because the car wouldn't shift into gear. Restarted and it was able to engage. I cleared all the codes. Still have the headlight and CATs warnings and paddles don't work. I'm hoping that once it all dries out everything will reset, assuming something got wet that wasn't supposed to.
I have/had the fuel tank won't fill up issue, but after letting the tank drop to just about empty that issue is gone for now.
Will be doing all the suspension seals over Christmas.
Coolant temps run 193-203 degrees
Intake air temps run 30-50 degrees above ambient temps.
Voltage runs 14.0-14.6
Mileage is 17++

Power car washes were invented by car dealers to create repairs needed. Seriously good idea to ID places where a high pressure water wand shouldn’t be aimed. Power side mirrors for instance. Very carefully around the engine. Mostly around it. Undercarriage. Comments?
Absolutely correct! Stay away from car washes and power washes on any new vehicle. It amazes me how so many owners of high end cars in my area of Florida bring their new vehicles to the aggressive car washes. I guess, when you have enough money, you just don't care. Get rid of this car, and we'll just get another.
