Default 2007-09 XK Akebono Brakes

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give all you 07-09 XK owners a heads up. As you may know, Akebono currently does not make front pads for our XK's (currently they only have fronts for the XKR's). Well, I just received an email confirmation from Akebono that they are releasing the front pads for the 07-09 XK's in the early part of the new year. This is fantastic news for XK owners who want to put on Akebono's all around. The new part number for the front pads will be EUR1241. The rears (currently available) are part number EUR1095.

Excellent news, I'll wait it out until they are on the market. Thanks

This is the latest I just received as of today.

The fronts for your application is EUR1241. Target release will be around end of June to July. Sorry the plant is behind on New Model releases.

So out of curiosity, are you talking about special shaped pads you can't buy elsewhere, or a special compound of pad?

I wonder. Does any body put out objective testing info on brake pads, Akebono & otherwise, like the big tire companies do?

I put Advance Auto ceramic pads (made by Federal Mogul and GRI) on my 07 XK car a year or so back. Results were perfectly satisfactory for me and the price was more than reasonable. What am I missing here? Is there any objective data?

Please. No subjective testimonials. We have plenty of that through out the Forum.

yes but like someone said if it is to change the rotors after he does not worth it, i will go for the dust, i rather ease my mind and stick to the cheaper. But i really go for the dust ....damn....i m tired at updating things changing buying plastic junk on ebay etc...i am very glad at the door defender, i used it, people are triggered in parkings but no steal, nothing bad happened, and it reassured me a lot when parking.

The Akebono EUR1241 is in stock at "Place for Brakes". Ordered today, should have by early next week. Also available at TireRack but 2 -3 week wait.
