Silly question but what is the proper name or part number for the Battery cover / shroud in the trunk of the 2007 XK convert?

It is the part that spans the width of the trunk and seems to provide some actuation or is required to be properly placed in order for the top to work?

I think I may have it improperly installed after a new battery replacement? Thank you for your help and Happy New Year to you all.

 

LUGGAGE SEPARATOR. It needs to be pulled rearward and the end bit tilted upwards and locked into position to align a metal clip on the left side to trip a sensor allowing the hood (roof) to operate.

Page 113 in the Owner's Handbook.

Does anyone know where I can buy this luggage separator? mine has broken and I need to replace so that the convertible top mechanism will work properly.
Used preferred or at least a better price than the dealer!

As a temporary workaround, you can stick a piece of metal, like a nut, in the track (left hand side IIRC) where the extended luggage separator would sit, to trigger the Hall Effect sensor behind the track, to think the luggage separator was properly extended.

I have trouble getting the front piece to SNAP in...

so I just let it hang and pop the slide into place..
