Default Question re Spires Exhaust

Re Spires exhaust for the 4.2L xkr. I have a 09 with the rear second resonator removed. still have the one closes to the cats. I find it a bit clappy or farty under WOT. im wondering if anyone knows if this sound clip is with the XKR-s 4.2 x pipe so no resonators at all. I would assume so but curious to know.

The 'rear' resonator removed? You mean, the back box? The actual MUFFLER? And the resonators are still installed? That's crazy talk.

Don’t think that what he means. Of the two resonators ahead of the back box on an XKR default configuration, he’s removed the one just before the back box.

Precisely what I thought when I read it , as there's 2 resonators plus a back box as kj pointed out on the ckr / xk only has the one plus backbox

?? Is the 4.2 setup different than the 5.0? Sure, I had two resonators forward of the back box, but each of those were on their own side from the downpipes and cats. Removing ONE would be problematic since they are attached together, parallel, and with one gone that particular bank of cylinders would be configured differently.

Ah ha HA! I checked my own self, and there are two 'sets' of resonators. I never knew that.

OR, am I REALLY losing it and the center section I had removed DID have two separate units??? I can't remember for the life of me....

Interesting. I did remove the centre resonator once. Lived with it for a week. That constant drone in the cabin drove me crazy. We put it back on.
Just the hi-flow cats gives a nice growl for me.

4.2 xkr, 5l xkr (x2 resonators)
4.2 n/a , 5l n/a (single resonator)

Hi sorry for late response. Yes the previous owner to me removed one of the two resonators. The one closes to the back box… my understanding is the limited release 4.2 Xkr-s was a x pipe and the stock Xkr rear box. So if you wanted the stock Xkr-s liminted edition you eliminated the two resonators on the stock xkr with a x pipe. Since spires decided to use in there exhaust video a xkr-s I was thinking that there rear box that I’m Interested in ( ie the car in the video) would have a x-pipe and there rear box. So in order for me to duplicate this sound and I understand each to their own on what they like their car to sound like, I would have to remove my one resonator too and buy the rear box for RPM Motorsport who now sells the spires exhaust in the UK. Or i was going to rear box delete but that is when I found out I’m missing a resonator and thought maybe the sound be funny. I don’t want straight piped no resonator and although currently my car is quite at Low speed and highway on wot it’s nice but sometimes if I drop a gear and wot it’s a little farty sounding .. clappy. Not my favourite. This sound of the spires I personally love. Just trying to clarify what the exact setup is of the car in the video is All .. hope that clarifies my question

So this is my 2008 I owned it 12 years ago. I had a quicksilver exhaust the night time video so the full quicksilver as in I used there resonator set up and there basically straight pipes in the rear. This had a drone so in the second video daylight one. That is with the stock two resonators back in which essentially just made it a rear box delete. Which I did enjoy. That is why with my 09 I went to do the same thing but then realized I was already missing one resonator and I was worried a back box delete with just one of the resonators would be too much. Then I came across this spires video and thought I could order the spires rear box and then eliminate my one resonator I have left and presto it would be the same as the car in the video. That make more sense on my thought process and why I asked the question I hope
