My 2007 XKR has 60000 miles. Lately I've had to press the start button in a circle to get the car to turn on and start. So how hard is it to pull the red button out?
When mine failed, it wouldn't shut the engine off. It would start first time every time but might take ten to fifteen pushes to get the engine to stop. Found one on Ebay and changed it in the drive way.
That is 100% an eBay purchase part. Much like small plastic trim pieces and clips, these are generally in perfect condition in salvage vehicles.
Reach out to sellers that have a picture of a partially dismantled x150 as the main listing photo, or sellers that are offering parts that could really only come from a salvage vehicle. They will likely have this kind of rarely asked for part, and will be happy to sell it to you since it would have likely ended up going to the scrap yard when they finished parting out the car. I will commonly reach out to these sellers and make a bulk order of clips and random pieces that inevitably crack or break for something like $25-50, and they almost always say yes.
Example, my car was missing the seat rail cover, the mirror arm cover was loose, the engine cover clips were wrong, and 2x of the rear armrest clips snapped upon reassembly when putting the interior back together after wiring an android box and GVIF. I also lost the nuts for the cargo cover after mistakenly unscrewing the lever clips.
I made an offer of $30 for the mirror cover, seat rail cover, 8x engine cowl cover clips, 2x cargo cover clips, and 4x rear armrest snap rivets. They seller had no problem sending me those parts for the exact reasons mentioned. The local dealer wanted over $200 for those stupid parts! Online was $125 plus shipping.
