2008 Spare Tire for 2008 Portfolio
#4
The front and back are different sizes so it would be highly impractical.
This is all assuming your Portfolio has the Alcon brakes. You should have a Jaguar fix-a-flat/inflation tool in the back in case of emergency. Not a very good solution I know, but I guess that is the price for having the El Presidente of XKRs.

My 2009 XKR Portfolio cvt has Alcon brakes and I previously posted the same concerns. Forget using a full-size 20" wheel/tire as a spare - it won't fit in the trunk well, which is smaller than the diameter of the mounted tire. That's why Jaguar uses a compact/temporary (donut) spare with the non-Alcon XKRs.
One possibility that might work is to use the OEM compact spare (since it will fit in the trunk well) together with a hub spacer (if you can find the right one) that will move that narrow donut spare out enough so it clears the caliper (and not rub the fender), and use longer extended lug nuts (due to the spacer). Because this setup is not DOT-approved, Jaguar won't help due to legal liability issues.
Another (expensive) possibility is to switch to run-flat tires; unfortunately, at the present time, it appears that there aren't any! I checked TireRack.com and they didn't list any run-flats in the OEM sizes; but you might be able to use run-flats that are slightly wider/narrower from the OEM tire that would work with the the Selena wheels.
Like yourself, I concluded that the most practical solution is to call AAA if necessary...and keep a bible in the trunk and pray you never get a flat!

Solved!
dd823,
The black 19" spare wheel and compact spare tire from the XJ Supersport will fit on the front without modification but you'll need a 7mm spacer for the rear to clear the caliper. For details, see https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-brakes-67260/
Works for me!
