Hi guys had a problem start yesterday where's I could not obtain drive or reverse. After several attempts moving the j gate selector up and down the car finally went into drive. I noticed that when the selector was in the drive position it seemed not to be fully engaged into a positive select position. I also noticed that the indicator light for neutral, reverse and drive only illuminated after careful selector movement. I've also noticed this morning when coming from neutral to drive, selection is only possible if you move the stick suddenly into drive and you here a click,the light then illuminates for drive and the selector is positively engaged.

Any suggestions as to what this might be would be most appreciated.

This has something to do with the shifter linkage slipping, I think.

Adjustment procedures are outlines in the workshop manual. My dealer had it sorted within 30 minutes.
