2009 XK Driver Side Interior Door Panel Warped?

Default 2009 XK Driver Side Interior Door Panel Warped?

I purchased my XK in October from a reputable Jaguar dealership. So my battery died in my XK yesterday. The car is under warranty and the dealership said they would take care of it. I figure since the service department was going to work on it, I told the service advisor that the driver side interior door panel was not seeded properly because there was a gap between the panel and the door side speakers. He said he would look into it.

So they called today for me to pick up the car. The battery was replaced. Then he tells me that they were not able to fix the door panel because it was warped. My response was that isn't that a craftmanship issue? And since the car is under warranty, shouldn't it be covered? He says, "no". Door panels don't warp. I explained to him that the car came that way. Anyway, I am escalating it to the service manager and the sales rep who sold me the car.

Am I screwed with this?

Call Jaguar North America customer relations center. They should be able to get things straightened out.

Good luck. Both of my door panels are the same way. I had the exact same thing happen at the dealer that you did. I called JNA and got "I'm sorry but they are not covered" line.

Called JNA. Explained my situation. They called the dealership and approved a new door panel. They finally got that part in and replaced it this morning. Kudos to JNA.
