Default 2009 XKR Portfolio (Tampa) - Rebuilt Title - $17-18K, is it worth it?

Hi Guys,
Noticed this 2009 XKR Port, with rebuilt title and 52K miles, is still for sale here in Tampa and they are finally getting the price down closer to where it may be worth it to someone. I think it can be bought for $17k or so.

No affiliation, but I have seen it in person a few times. Looked straight etc, but I did not drive it since it was a 2009 and I only wanted a 5L.

OR, with the rebuilt title is it still not worth it at $17K or so?

IF someone here has serious interest I can go down, do a test drive and really check it out for you.

Oh, if this has already been discussed please advise and I will delete this thread.

Happy Friday,

Dave

No indication as to why it was salvaged. Maybe a flood car judging from the wood trim, who knows at this point. I think I'd pay a couple bucks more for something with a known history, though it does look sharp & clean.

Looks nice but salvage titles may present problems with banks (financing), insurance companies and resell market. Some states in particular have really cracked down on them. Have you seen the car fax?

IIRC Front end collision, No Air Bags deployed etc.

Edit: I found the link to the Carfax: https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...tfsCu4EfyB4MhU

FYI, I thought the Carfax was linked there in the ad??? It is in either the Car Guru and Autotrader ads for it because I just read it this morning.

Edit, found it, see above.

Cheers,

Dave

I also looked at this one when I drove yours.... Looks great, but the title scares me. But damn, that's the colors in and out I want.... But like you I too wanted the 5L

That is kind of funny that neither one of us cared to drive that one, heck I didn't even open the door to look at it when I was there a few times, LOL

Hope you are doing great,

Dave

I'd buy it if I was interested. Front ends pretty much bolt on and it doesn't take much to total one of these from a financial point of view.

Hi Brett,

I have 3 more Back Procedures over the next 4 weeks (#12,13,14 since April :-), after that I will be up for it.

Heck, we should organize some sort of Tampa Bay XK get together this Winter. I have 20+ years experience of doing that on a larger scale and would be happy to help.

Hope you are having a great day,

Dave

She's worth about $28k in good condition so you're looking at roughly a 30% discount. If it were me, I'd get ahold of the photo's pre-repair so you have an idea. If possible I get a copy of the repair receipt too. Resale will be weak so if it were me, I'd plan on long term ownership.

If the meet up was open to other Jag owners not just X150s, might get a bigger crowd. There is a Jaguar Club here too

Hi Jeremy,

How the heck are you?? Busy as usual I assume.

There are OTHER Models????? Who Knew!! LOL

I am sure the larger clubs already have events covered, it wouldn't make sense to just replicate what already exists. But those events could be a good place to start getting together.

I for one think just an X150 meet, even if only 8-10 cars, would be infinitely more fun and dare I say, a more "intimate" setting to get to know each other and check out each others X150.

Just a thought, my wife and I are open to coming to wherever everyone wants to meet.

Have a great evening,

Dave
