Default 2010+ emissions drive cycle

Hey everyone,

I am due for a NJ inspection at the end of this month. According to Torque App, I have test not complete for several systems, including Evap, 02 Banks 01 and 02 and a generic "fuel system" code that I think is related to the evap test. I had a dtc (p0232) for fuel pump voltage high, which I cleared, and it reset all of the emissions tests. I have done several drives, including 160 miles yesterday. Does anyone have info on the full drive cycle? The evap test is confusing me the most as I drove the car down to below 3/4 a tank, let the car sit overnight, and still not complete.

Thanks for any help, Sean.

I don't have the number, but you need more startup-drive-turnoff cycles.

Your fuel tank may have been too full. it should be between 3/4 and 1/4 for best results.

Default Update... I passed inspection.

I decided to take the car to the inspection station and get a fail sticker so I wouldn't get a ticket.

I was making the mistake of looking at the detail codes instead of the overall emissions test status. Even with all of the tests below reading incomplete, I still passed :

I believe none of those are relevant to state inspections (also not for MoT over here) if indeed those MID/TIDs are even reported meaningfully.

It's reassuring to hear it passed.

Yes, I think that the Torque app I was listing all possible codes, and those not supported by the car were listed as incomplete.

Lesson learned : Don't clear codes or disconnect the battery right before an inspection.

Also, for those interested, there are 2 drive cycles to complete to get emissions ready (from 2010 Workshop Manual) :

Short Drive Cycle :

1. Connect the diagnostic equipment to the vehicle.
2. Follow on screen prompts and check for engine management
fault codes.
3. Clear the fault codes following the on screen procedure.
4. Start the engine.
  •  Allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds.
  •  Raise the engine speed to 1500 rpm and hold for 3 minutes until a temperature of 70ºC (158 ºF) is achieved.
  •  Allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds.
  •  Switch off the engine.
5. NOTE: If fault codes are found, interrogation of the relevant
system must be carried out and claimed against.
Follow on screen prompts and check for engine management
fault codes.
6. Disconnect the diagnostic equipment from the vehicle.

Long Drive Cycle :

1. Connect the diagnostic equipment to the vehicle.
2. Follow on screen prompts and check for engine management
fault codes.
3. Clear the fault codes following the on screen procedure.
4. Disconnect the diagnostic equipment from the vehicle.
5. NOTE: Make sure cruise control is not engaged.

Make sure the engine temperature is above 60 ºC (140 ºF).

Carry out a road test and perform the following operations :
1. Accelerate to 55 mph (88 km/h) in 5th gear and cruise
for 2 minutes with the engine speed at or above
1800rpm.
2. Lift off the throttle and allow the vehicle to decelerate
until the engine speed is less than 1000 rpm.
3. Stop the vehicle.
4. Release brake, allow the vehicle to move with no throttle
for 1 minute.
5. Road test is now complete.
6. Connect the diagnostic equipment to the vehicle.
7. NOTE: If fault codes are found, interrogation of the relevant
system must be carried out and claimed against.
Follow on screen prompts and check for engine management
fault codes.
8. Disconnect the diagnostic equipment from the vehicle.
