Default 2010 XK rear fog lamp(s) - one or two?

I've every thread I could find on the rear fog lamps but couldn't determine if the 2010 XK has one rear fog lamp or two. I do know that the 2010 has two reverse lights. I just got a 2010 XK convertible and the passenger side rear fog lamp does not illuminate. The driver side has one led bulb out. I have five months of original warranty left so I assume this would be covered. Can someone "illuminate" the one vs two issue for 2010?

Wiring diagram shows two rear fogs. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to go & check on mine, sorry.

I don't know on the XK but having lived 28 years in Germany, tail fog lights are typically just one. It is just a signal light and way too bright to have two. Not saying that no manufacturer has two rear fog lights, just saying it is not typical.
I can check though when I get home tonight.

At one stage, it was deemed a 'bad idea' to have two rear fogs, because it's hard to distinguish between fogs and brake lights. Some cars fitted with two rear fogs were shipped with a bulb in only one of them, or even a dummy red-plastic cover on one side. I don't think it's an EU regulation or anything. Later, some manufacturers realised they could put a rear fog on one side and a reversing light on the other, reducing the number of lamps required.

Anyway, the XK has reversing lights on both sides, and the wiring diagram says two rear fogs as well.

I can see LEDs in the passenger side fixture (the one that doesn't illuminate). The owners manual doesn't help, using "fog lamps" plural in a couple places and "fog lamp" singular in another place. I'm hoping someone with a 2010 XK can verify (I don't think the 2010 XK shares components with Dodge Avenger... LOL). Thanks for the replies.

You are right about my old Avenger ...& another difference is the Dodge has 2 fog lights , you know they work & you know where they are .....With the Multi thousand dollar US spec Jag XK , you dont kow how many rear fog lights you have , you dont know if they work & you have no idea where they are located ....Money does'nt always go hand in hand with progress....

I agree... like the seat memory! With my 2000 S-Type (and I'm sure many other brands, like my Ford F-150), recalling a seat preset is a one-touch operation. With the XK, you have to hold it down through the entire recall process... very strange. A "first world" problem for sure, but a head scratcher.

Thanks Muddydog! Just the info I needed. I'll add it to my "warranty" list while I still have it.

Your XF has two. One on each side.

I am certain the XK is the same.

07-09 had only one fog...Of note: it is on the side closest to the center lane... As muddy pointed out, 10 and on got 2. Even Audi's A4 only had one till 2006, then they too went to two. For my 07XK i bought a "new" Euro fog from the UK to convert mine to two, but then the seller took me for a ride by shipping me a beat up junkyard pull.... Sent it back hoping they are honorable enough to refund...grrrrr

I do occasionally carry passengers in the back of my XKR. If the button was one touch there is a good chance the person in the back would get squashed when the seat was moved back to allow the front passenger to get in. You could set up different memory buttons for different positions but there is still the chance the wrong one would get pressed.

In my other vehicle, if you open the door and press the memory button it will accept one-touch. If you get in the car it will make you hold the button through the whole process. Creepy?
