I'm sure many of you have seen this already but was I bummed when I read it! I just spent loads of $$$ to get my XKR close to 500hp, and now you can just buy one already to go! Doesn't seem fair, now I want a new one

Seems like their 0-60 times aren't as good as they should be, but then again most of the 07-09 run faster than the 4.9 Jaguar Quotes.

Very different placement of foglight in front(those are lights, right?) Actually just "slats" ? got rid of fog all together..huh
The exhaust looks slightly larger also?
And of course switched to the FX "rising gear dial".......gives it the "Ahhh" factor when showing it off to friends!!!!

The verticle slats behind the front wheels are body colored now on the R, not silver...the all new engine is definately a big plus. Im guessing the2010 xkr will cost $5k more than an2009 just for this improvement alone. 500 hp...nice!...Not really excited about the front bumper change & wheels w/ jaguar-supercharged embossed in it. Rear LED lights are an improvement for safety & look good too.

 

The taillights actually look like they may transfer to the older body styles, they appear to have the same shape - that would make for a nice upgrade.

 

Finally....LED Taillights! I've been looking for these....LOL. Hopefully an easy plug and play retrofit to the pre '10.

 

the 5.0 litre is going to be really nice.. all electronics are made by bosch, VVT on intake and exhaust . newer style superxcharger cant wait to drive it

 

Just saw a powerpoint on the 5.0. I thought it said the injectors and electronics were going to be Denso but I could be mistaken. Direct injection with dual mechanical fuel pumps driven from crankshaft with chains for 2000+psi(150bar) fuel pressure. 4 VVTs and variably selective camshaft profile with an additional 5mm lift for high rpm operation and power.

 

i thought so too but i saw the engine and saw no denso.. the supercharged engine you cant see anything..

 

Me too! Do you think that it will bea simple plug and playupgrade? Because of the extremely low voltage, LED bulbs in the standard lights illuminate the "bulb blown" fault on the message centre, and in indicator usage they cause the fronts to flash too fast. Maybe these will do the same? I hope not as I've been waiting for this upgrade. They should have had LED's from day one, the XJ has had them since '03.

Does anyone happen to know if they will be 'retro-fittable'?

 

No one probably knows until it comes out. I know when I had my '04Mercedes E500....those who didn't have LED taillights were able to upgrade to the LEDs with direct plug and play OEM taillights. Hope it wil be the same with the Jag.

 

I noticed that the Aston Martin boys over on 6Speedonline are all up in a lather about the new XKR. They want more power!

On another note, according to my local Jaguar dealer, the F-Type is a definite go. Most likely a turbo V6 to keep weight down. Also under serious consideration is a 4 door XK8-XKR similar in concept to the Aston Martin Rapide. Not sure if this will replace the XJ series or will be an addition to the XK line.

 

If you look closely they revised the rear diffuser slightly. One solid piece now. Did they really got rid of the foglights? They should have integrated it somehow.

 

Honeyman, can you post some pictures of your cars up please. Im interested to see how the pre 08 cars, especially luxury models look with cremona wheels on them.

My next Jaguar will be an XJ most likely and ill end up putting the 20" portfolio/callisto wheels either polished or chromed
