Hello everyone just wanted to get your thoughts im looking at a xk 2011 with 41 k on it it has 2 years 60k miles left on warranty and a 2 year extension they say will cost additional 2k about. Is this worth if i have heard good things about the reliability of jag but still scared about high repair cost of problem that expecially when a car company knows of issues like crank shaft bearings ect (mercbenz) )) that they wont acknowledge. Thanks

 

For the 5.0, the water pump is a potential weakness, just needs to be inspected regularly for leaks. There have been a few problems with the supercharger getting noisy, though that's not relevant to an XK. But most owners only experience minor niggles or none at all. Mine is 2010 with 36k on it, and it's fine.

Provided you do something about leaks, noises, etc. when they first appear, none of this stuff is mega-expensive. If you get a low coolant warning and you ignore it & keep driving, you might knacker the engine; If you stop & check for big leaks & fluid loss, you should be fine.
