2011 Transmission Service
I am probably going to buy a 2011 XKR with 75000 miles tomorrow. I have been told that the transmissions are sealed for life and there is no service to be done on them. I have also read that they should be serviced anyway. Has anyone had their transmissions serviced with this vintage car? What did it cost and what did they do.
Thanks

Servicing the ZF 6HP26/28 includes draining the fluid and changing the pan, which includes the filter. ZF gearboxes use Lifeguard fluid that should be changed every fifty thousand miles for proper shifting and to prolong the life of the unit.
Any Jaguar specialist can perform the service. It can cost from 400$US to 700$US, so you may want to shop around. The service can also be performed by a transmission shop as the ZF unit is also used by BMW, Bentley, Hyundai and Rolls Royce.
