Need some help my top when trying to open will lower the windows and disengage from the front windshield and then only move about an inch or 2 up from the windshield and stop moving. I looked in the trunk and nothing is blocking the top from going down. Any suggestions?

 

There are a bunch of threads in here all about the top and procedures to remedy this problem. Do a quick SEARCH THIS FORUM from the first page of the X150 page.

I saw that but none that I found being my issue

 

I've never looked in there, I figured there would be a Reset procedure. Guess not.
Do two manual resets as per the owner's manual. Then do a hard reset of the battery cables. THEN reset both front windows, up and down.

 

i dont see anything in the owner's manual on doing a reset. Everybody is talking about it but I can't seem to find detailed instructions.

You should read it from beginning to end before attempting to reset your top, and make notes of the relevant thread numbers so you can read them again. Pay particular attention to the threads written by WhiteXKR - that's Steve, the Jag Wrangler and the Forum expert on all things having to do with the convertible top. He's also the inventor of what the factory forgot - the Remote Control Top Module and Rear Window Controller, both of which I installed myself and highly recommend. Just follow Steve's advice.
