Wow, that's damn near perfect. 29k miles... Just about due for a water pump.

Interested to see what the final bid will be.

Given the prices people bid on "Brains are Toast", I'd expect it to push $200k!

Here's the last one that sold there:
2013 Jaguar XKR-S for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $50,000 on December 7, 2020 (Lot #40,127) | Bring a Trailer

Good to see they are getting good coin. These cars are rare and one's in excellent condition can demand high $'s.

It would benefit all of us if prices were to skyrocket. Not if we would like to UPGRADE though, that'd be about a wash.
Even if the value of my XKR was to hit $50,000, what would I swap it for? There really isn't anything out there with the panache and punch these things have for the price, even the price doubled.

I showed this list on B.A.T. to a friend today who after getting a C8 Corvette hardtop convertible about 3 months ago, got offered $25000. over what he paid by a private party and sold it last weekend. Since he doesn't want to use his Pantera as his grocery getter, I told his to look at this. He's considering it since he loves the color, he knows how much I like my car, and he'd have about $75,000 change in his pocket from what he sold the 'Vette for. I'll let everyone know what happens.

$70K!! I thought it would go in the $45K range. Boy, was I wrong. I think people are starting to see the value of the x-150. And being an -S didn't hurt it.

WOW. $70k. Im shocked it sold this high. That doesn't include the buyers premium of 5%...so someone paid $73,500.

You could get Aston Martin DB9 under $50k and that is an upgrade. But if our XKRs were going to $50k, DB9s would surely still be ahead of them.

You may consider a DB9 an upgrade but an upgrade in what? Bragging rights? Status? Certainly performance wise, it's a downgrade. And I guess every review I ever read when the two cars were contemporaries, much to the surprise of the reviewers came to the same conclusion. As wonderful as they thought the Aston was, every review I ever read had the reviewer picking the XKR as the car they'd rather go home with.

Plus, the DB9 would break more and cost more to fix.
Not an upgrade at all.

The fit and finish of an Aston Martin is so far beyond anything Jaguar offers. It's easy to say if you just look at the spec sheets but if you have sat in or driven both, XKR is definitely out of its league.

I do think the XKR is a better value, but at $50k, the only thing the Jaguar has over Aston Martin DB9 is self serviceability.

That's because reviews are considering a 200k car versus a 90k car.

At 50k and 25k depreciated, I still pick the XKR.

But if both are at 50k, the XKR isn't even close.

I test drove an 09 Vantage, an 08 DB9 and a '10 XKR three years ago. They were all a similar price but I came home with the '10 XKR.

As much as I would like to have owned either of the other two, the XKR is a much better drivers car and as mine is a daily driver that was my most important consideration.

The Sportshift gearbox in the Vantage is awful and the DB9 was all on or all off power wise. In the XKR I only have to lightly touch the accelerator and a downshift or two later the horizon starts coming towards me very quickly!

I would have had to buy a late model Vanquish to get anywhere near the same performance and that was three times the price of the XKR then and still is.

Owning and driving an Aston Martin is little different bowl of wax. You're buying an object d'art and it's a car. Aston has never won the performance stat awards and it's brillance a car is in the emotions evoked to the driver. It's more of a sensory event than XKR. XKR is a better value as a mode of transportation and may cost less annually to own, but that is all missing the point of a DB9 or any Aston.

Engine sounds, the looks, engineering, construction, the smell of the leather, the steering feel... It's those things.

That was incredible for the XKR-S to hit 70K and it's worth it too! Great to see recent higher values for the XK range.

XKR is nice. A well made, underappreciated effort. Works just fine as a daily driver. XKR-S is the most refined version of them all.

DB9 is special. An event. Every drive is an experience.

BaT has just gone insane over the past year. Wealthy people across the country who would normally vacation, now spending that money on cars?

I wonder if the market will hold.
