No fair , I think you are a little bias , hahahahaha Great

Just thought I would update everyone. My father wants to go forward with the purchase, just lining up financing now. So hopefully all goes well.

Perhaps someone can clarify something RE the brakes.

The base MSRP for the 2014 XKR Convertible is $103,500, and the list for this car is $106,063. I know the IRR paint is $1,500, and it also has wheel locks/front plate bracket, which are $163 (...really?). The Warm Charcoal w/ Red interior is $900, so now we're at the list price.

However, the brake calipers are not red, but grey/black. I thought the black calipers were only available as part of one of the black/dynamic/performance packs, but the MSRP of this car is too low for that to be the case. Thoughts?

Use topix to get the complete build on your car. It will also show all outstanding warranty and compaigns on the car. Here is the link: https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...cle/lookupForm. You will need to register. If you are unable to register pm me your VIN and I'll run it for you.

Don't forget to post some pictures of the new XKR.

Thanks for the link. My father actually ended up going with a different car due to some sales-tax disagreements with the dealer. Fortunately, I think it worked in his favor.

A local dealer had a 2012 XKR-S that was supposedly sold when he first started looking, but their buyer fell through, so he was able to purchase it.

It's black with the London tan interior, and has just over 6k miles on the clock. The CarFax lists one previous personal owner in Georgia, and no mention of it being a lease or corporate/demo car, which was a concern of mine. Below is a shot from the test drive. The front splitter was damaged in transit, so they're waiting on a new one from Jaguar. As soon as that arrives, I'll take him to get the car this weekend.

The R-S is a beast - he's going to love it (but he should practice in the dry first; 550 HP breaks traction pretty easily!)

Thanks everyone, he is very excited. Hopefully going to pick the car up tomorrow. When we get back home, I'll take some more photos.

He's not much for maintaining cars.. he just likes to drive them. So I'll be taking care of all the routine maintenance, which means I at least get to drive it occasionally!
