Default Adamesh Wind Deflector

Finally received my Adamesh Wind Deflector after it was sitting in Paris for a week due to the Iceland volcano flight freeze. Overall impression is very positive - good fit and finish, quality construction and materials.

I don't know how it compares to the Jaguar one, but at $500+ for a new one, it was more than I was prepared to spend. At US$328 for this one including shipping from Adamesh, it seems like a very reasonable alternative for anybody looking to pick one up.

I have had both and find them comparable. They are slightly different but only in detail...as far as overal looks and operation they are equal.

Got the Adamesh wind screen last week on the recommendation of this string. It came from the UK in three days! works great!
Thanks so much Great alternative to the 500+ bucks for the OEM.

I also bought the Adamesh deflector. A couple differences

The Adamesh model will fold, but the flat part that goes over the seats will not so if you wanted access to teh rear seats to hod stuff, it is more difficult with the Adamesh model

I was told (by Adamesh) that Jaguar charges one hour labor to install the brackets that allow the access to the back seats

My dealer quoted me a price of $960 to buy & install an OEM deflector. They have an mrsp of 645 and Palm Beach Jaguar has them on Ebay for 585 I believe

The OEM deflector only comes in Black & Silver, where the Adamesh model comes in the brown (whatever Jaguar calls it) that matches my interior perfectly

And it really does a great job of blocking the wind . I live in Florida where it doesnt get THAT cold, but with the windows up & the deflector up I have the top down every day unless it is raining

There are brackets installed behind the seat belts on the OEM model. they allow the horizontal part to unhook and fold up , allowing access to the back seats
the adamesh model has two rods that just fit into the slots where he seat belts go t stop the unit from rotating . but to access the back seats ou need to remove the deflector & put it back after

Oh, I see. I just tilt the seat front forward and reach in... didn't realize the OEM one did that.

Thanks Shady!
The Adamesh only has two small rods that pop into the rear seatbelt openings as the attachment of the back seat "cover" I simple lift the screen up and pop it out of the seatbelt openings when I want to pu something in the back seat then I pop it back. It has not injured the plastic at all. does that not work in yours Jimi?

I am in the market for wind defector. Survey which one I should buy? OEM or Adamesh? Coupe hundred dollars more would not break me. I'm broke now.

I have the adamesh and mine always seems to loosen up after each use. Once I fold it down, the nut loosens and I need to tighten it with a wrench for the next use. The wind deflector just flops down as soon as I accelerate. Does anyone else have similar issues or know a remedy to this annoying issue?

That hasn't happened to me, but then again, I rarely fold the deflector down

Hasn't happened to me yet, but as part of the design, I can see that getting loose over time.

I just noticed that my adamesh deflector started to losen up also. I havent had to tighten it yet but it fell down once and I can feel the differance.

Could you replace the offending nut with one of those self-locking ones with the nylon? Might at least mitigate the problem to having to tighten it every other time.

OK so what's the consensus? Adamesh, Mina Gallery or OEM? (No one's mentioned the Mina Gallery one, it's about $535.) The OEM price just seems silly...

BTW I thightened the screw with an allen wrench and my adamesh wind deflector has worked perfectly for the last month or so. Also the OEM isn't all black so I personally think the adamesh looks better.

When I tried to look for the Adamesh wind deflector, their catalog only appears to go up thru the XK8, and not for the 07 XK. where did you find it for the XK?
