For us, it means we can both wear large brimmed hats with the top down.
We are both fair skinned and at our age need to avoid the sun on our faces. Prior to the rear window control we found that gusts of wind, either from the weather or a passing truck disturbed our hats. now having the rear windows up means the hats remain undisturbed.

You could make your own custom deflector, by finding some fine meshed material, like the real deflectors, and stretch it across the gap between headrests and down to the center drive shaft hump. Should perform similarly to a wind deflector for the front of the cockpit, while leaving the rear seat space unaffected.
Interesting idea. Yeah in the dog car (Honda pilot) he rides with the back windows half way down and sticks his head out, regardless of speed or temp. Loves the wind.

In the pilot he has an enclosure the width of the back seat that attaches to all the headrests. But the bench is level. Our seats are the furthest from level I’ve ever had. He’d fit. Only 80lbs. But need something with a board in it so it levels out across the back and comes up front and back to protect the seats.

Don’t know, maybe your climate is different, but it’s nice doing 85 down the freeway in a calm cockpit.
