Default IAM Module

I am hesitant to go into to the Jaguar agency as they seem to do more harm than good. My 07 Coupe has been absolutely brilliant and remarkably trouble free. I will order the module from the parts department and seek a competent technician to attempt the swap. The thought of messing around with the electronics is really frightening however I would like to have the car back to it's pristine condition. I keep thinking I should sell it while its working perfectly but the beauty and performance is compelling. Let me know if you resolve your issue, I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Thumbs up Same issue on '07 XKR THANKS ALL

Thanks to everybody for putting all the info. together in this thread.

When I started reading I didn't even know where the active radio unit is in the vehicle. It all works fine save for the AM radio. It went intermittent but very quickly died altogether. I now propose to dig the module out of the car (when the weather improves) confirm the part number and source a replacement.

I have poor FM reception to the point where radio station identifiers are not filling in. On any given day I might be able to catch 2/3 FM stations. Same 7W93-19C034-AE module to blame?

Maybe, and maybe not. I tried replacing my IBOC with a used on on ebay. It didn't change anything. So either the replacement was also defective, or that was not the issue.

Since I have somewhat poor FM reception as well, I am tempted to swap out the antenna or booster. But have not pulled the trigger.

After some digging, I found this: https://workshop-manuals.com/jaguar/...dio_reception/

I wonder if that applies to you and I.

I also wonder if this can be fixed out of warranty...

Interesting! If the cable (and connectors) are readily available, it would be worth trying.

Thank you!

the first step is to read the codes. the fix may be as simple as a module refresh.

Yes, absolutely. Owning a jag, the first thing I bought was a code reader. It gets regular use. Sadly, the audio system is throwing no codes.

Excellent advice though.

Do you use SDD, or some other reader?

You won't get any module codes from a generic reader, you need SDD. Some pricey good ones will read Jaguar codes also, but SDD was built for Jags, so it's the gooderest one to use.

Is this something only dealers have?

No, Some Indy shops will have it. Or you can make your own with a laptop, interface cable and software. See the sticky’s section for SDD background.
