Default Ambient temperature fault.

I have a problem with the ambient temperature on my XK. The display continually fluctuates between -40 and the current air temp (64F today) As the display alters the grey relay behind the rear seat clicks in unison. I have replaced the sensor behind the front bumper with a genuine JLR part but that has made no difference.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

The reason I ask about C or F, is that depending on your VIN, you may have the issue in the following thread. There is a TSB attached in the thread with more details.

Ambient air temp reads 0 F

Because -40F is the same as -40C in the real world? Change the relay?

If it's swapping as described maybe a bad connection. I think -40 is the same as either an open- or short-circuit sensor.

(Yes, -40F = -40C)
