Default Another tire size question

Anyone running 255/40r20 front and 295/35r20 rears on their X150? Any clearance or rubbing problems?
Looking to upgrade from my 19's but, would like the extra sidewall for a nicer ride.
Thanks, Dave

But your diameters will be off. If I may suggest, if you want the higher ratio, stick to the 19s.
But to answer your question, at first glance, and without spacers or lowered springs, you may be fine.

Hmmm, 40s on the 20s. i think it be a little too spongy for me in the summer.

Thanks guy! I just bought this XK and its my first Jag. Im not a canyon carver so I'm much more concerned with ride than I am in handling. I also don't like the looks of my 19's plus each wheel has about the worst curb rash I have ever seen!

This is about the maximum, but it requires custom wheels. Since these are a bit shorter, you could always up the diameter a bit.

I'm running 255/35R20 F and 295/30R20 R on my '08 XKR. Falken Azenis FK512s. Here's link to thread. Fit great, no rubbing even with spirited driving and on stock Cremonas.

I've got 265/35/20 on the front and 305/30/20 in the rear, but I'd prefer 19's if could.

Well done. Your car looks great!
What exact wheels (brand and sizes) did you get? I too prefer 19” wheels for more comfort.

Thanks, I just added the wheels and tires yesterday. They're actually 20" wheels, 9" front, 10.5" rear. The brand is "Verde" and the model is "V99 Axis in Matte Graphite". The tires are stock size for a XKR, 255/35r20 & 285/30r20. They ride surprisingly well but, new tires always have a good ride at first I think.
Thanks again for the kudos!! Dave

Nice choice. And I think you’ll be pleased in the long term with the tire size.

Could you post a picture with those tires? I'd like to put a little taller sidewall on my 20s to fill up the wheelwell and curious to how that size looks. I'm not crazy about low-profile tires, especially here in pot-hole ridden NY.

I too would love to see pictures of your set-up.

I run 18s on the track and 20s on the street .

19s would be the best of both worlds as the 20s don't offer enough sidewall profile and whilst the 18s are very comfortable they don't have that visual appeal .
