Default Anyone have a line on Boot struts

For my 07 XK base. Fleabay and Amazon both have them but over $70 a pair. I thought I read someone picked up a set for $20.

Am I searching under the wrong name?

I've tried Lift supports
Liftgate supports
Trunk struts
Trunk supports
Boot struts

Damn gate came down on my back when I was starting to remove the tail lamp assembly.

Thanks Geoff. I should have specified here in the U.S. Shipping from U.K. is too much.

Actually I think what I was reading was related to hood struts. May have been tberg and may have been $20/ per side. The hood struts are larger but can be had for less?

It looks like they're all running $70 -$160 depending on manufacturer.

I think I'll just keep an eye out but if someone has a cheap source, please let me know.

Thanks Shemp. I did look @ Rock Auto and that price X2 + shipping is around $80 for my model. I think they are just that expensive. Not terrible but a few things hit me at the same time and just took me by surprise.

Yea that's about right IMO. I paid about $45 each for my 2002 Yukon rear hatch dampers from Autozone a couple years ago.

Sean,

I can't recall if this is true on the X150, but for many years Sachs has been the OEM of many Jaguar hood and trunk struts, particularly their Stabilus line. I searched "07 Jaguar XK stabilus trunk strut" and came up with these links among others:

https://autoplicity.com/9984393-stab...7wlRoC-rjw_wcB

https://www.carid.com/sachs/stabilus...IfzhoCruHw_wcB

One of the nice things about Stabilus struts is that they have "dynamic damping," which means the pressure decreases as the strut nears its full closed position to reduce the stress on the mounting points.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don. These prices are more down to earth. Much appreciated.

Just a heads up to all. I ordered from Autoplicity on the link above. They sent me the struts for the X100. They said they don't have what I need, even though the part indicates it's relevant for an 07. For grins, I entered 08 and 09 MY as well and the same part number came up.

I checked CarID and their part number seems to be correct.
SG266007 - OEM# C2P1809

I ordered from here:
