Default AUX input

Hello I'm new to the group. I just purchased a 2010 xk coupe. I previously had a 2001 xjr. I've always loved jaguar for some unexplainable reason. Now I think I have one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
I am a car stereo installer by trade. What I am trying to do is send an AUX signal into the factory radio. I have a usb and ipod connection in my center console. I ordered an aux, lightning adapter from Amazon and bnb it doesn't work. It charges my po hone but that's it. It doesn't detect when something is plugged in. I have access to the wiring diagram for the plug but I'm not completely sure how it works. There are 2 detect wires. I'm just not sure if they need to see + or - or connect to each other. Has anyone else had success with this?
NavTV and NavTool make interfaces that add an AUX through the MOST network but I dont want to spend that much if I dont have to.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but I want a wired input. Wired will always be the best option.

In the search box in the upper right hand corner of this page type in connecting Ipod or some such thing to the audio/infotainment system and you will find several threads on this subject. at least one of them will provide you guidance.

So you stand to financially benefit from this knowledge. Fair enough.
What should we charge you?

Actually I never thought about that side. I've been installing for 15 years and this is the 4th jag that I've had in my bay. Two of the cars were my own. Several European cars have this 20 pin connector that would be a logical input if itll work. Personally I dont want to pay $350 to add AUX

I can show you, unfortunately the equipment and materials and time cost about $4k to do the job correctly.
But you will be able to do that for many other cars equipped with Harman heads.
Your customers will spend $1500.
Give up while you are ahead, there is no way to go into the unit and get good results. Its designed to lock aftermarket manufacturers (like myself) out.

Do what the others have described, use an ipod. Or figure out a way to upgrade the bluetooth module to 5.0 and use a 5.0 transmitter.

My transmitter does it all. The Aux input is not an option in my car. Plus I get to use both the stereo volume, and phone volume which increases the output, and the EQ on Spotify is a godsend! Anyway, wire it up, cuz clearly you cant charge for ordering and installing a bluetooth transmitter from Ebay😅

He wants an AUX input. You add three wires to the grey connector at the back of the head unit, turn on the AUX input with SDD, and done.

No dude. As you can tell by his handle, he is serious about sound. Spotify and the bluetooth standard from 4 years ago is complete garbage. FM transmitter is even step down from that ****.
Why arent you pumping iron this morning.

lol. You sound like a harpy little woman, so early this am. Get your T levels checked stat!!! I hear ya on the FM transmitter and BT. They are garbage. Sound is a serious thing, especially when its very underwhelming to begin with.

Holy Punctuation, Batman.
Anyway, to use an audio cable you need the Accessory Aux Input installed in your car.
Any old audio cable. Costs about a buck at many online stores.
