Back up cameras - after market

Back up cameras - after market
It appears now that a back up camera system that installs seamlessly into the 07 XK Coupe Nav Screen is further in the future than I anticipated. Perhaps not ever.
I'm aware of systems that integrate into the current Nav Screen that require opening the menu to get a display. They do no interest me.
Have any of you guys installed a stand alone after mkt. back up camera? I see that there are a number of systems available that involve a replacement rear view mirror with video screen or a stand alone screen that mounts "God knows where".
What are the pros and cons such systems, which offer the best video/hardware quality and ease of installation? How much money are we talking and who are the most reliable vendors?
Perhaps we can start the discussion with guys who actually have purchased and installed one of the above described systems?

Something like this seems to be the only option but you'd have to manually select Nav. to enable it.
JAGUAR XK-TYPE 2007-2013 NAVIGATION VIDEO INTERFACE
...and if your system is anything like mine (2008 XKR), you already get a backup parking sensor display whenever reverse is engaged, which sits over whatever else is being displayed, so you'd possibly have to manually dismiss that too by touching the screen (or home button?) first before you could select Nav.

As a side note, I have wondered about a slim vid screen mounted in place of the drivers vanity mirror... With the thinness of todays phones, I would think an ingenious person could find a replacement screen and wire a camera to it, that way it is live at all times, and you flip it down to view....
Sigh... If only I was an ingenious person....

A fully automatic system on the factory screen is my goal.

I did a Google search and came up with http://rear-view-cameras-review-toptenreviews.com/
This site pretty much covers all my questions. The only outstanding issue is the actual experience of XK drivers. It looks like the cost is low enough such that I can afford to buy a currently available stand alone system and then incorporate the White XKR nav screen integrated set up when/and if it becomes available.
Isn't this internet/Google world wonderful?
We still need to hear from Jag XK drivers who have actual experience.

I'm actually interested in this thread just to see how everyone plans to patch a video feed into the head unit.
My 2008 XKR is too old to have gotten the backup camera as standard, but the backup sensors always seem to do a good job so I don't really miss it. Consequently rather than using the nav video for a backup camera I'm thinking this might be way more useful and also hits a James Bond level of cool toy:
NAV-TV Corporation: FLIR Night Vision

It's usually done by inserting a switching controller into the video feed from the nav unit to the head unit. That's why you have to select Navigation on the touch screen, then select the rear camera input using the controller.

That's an expensive toy.
Anyway, I can't buy it because I'm one of them dangerous furrin terrorists.

What the hell? We wanted to get specific input from Jag pilots who had actually installed an after mkt. stand alone back up camera. With 1 or 2 exceptions, what we get is borderline "high jacking" comments. Did I miss something?
I'm going back to bed. I'm just too cranky to start the day just yet.
