Hi all. I've a quick question. Is there any backlighting on the steering column stalks? It's the first time I've noticed that when you switch on the headlamps, and most of the indicators on the centre console, steering wheel itself, seat controls, etc, are backlit in the usual green; however the stalks themselves are not. I can't seem to remember whether they used to be on or not and I can't find any help on the manual.

 

No back lighting on the stalks that I'm aware of. At least not in mine.

 

Thanks Rahtok! That's a relief; thought there's some fault as I do find it a bit strange for the stalks not to be backlit.

 

You're welcome! Mind you, I can't think of a single car that has backlit stalks. Certainly none that I've ever owned so far. Maybe that's my plebeian background showing but...

 

My 92 and 95 Range Rovers had this. It was great and easy to find things at night. Shame other cars don't have it.

 

Come to think of it, I've never noticed this feature in the other cars I had, but with a more sophisticated stalk setup, I would have thought that it's pretty logical to have them backlit. On the positive side, it's one thing less that can fail
