Default backup camera possible vendor?

This looks interesting. http://www.emeraldintegrations.com/j...era-system.htm

Anyone have experience with them? I'm finding my screen a little daggy now that I drive my missus' XE a bit.

Your link goes to a cookie-specific place and was not found. Which product did you find?

Bruce,

Last year, WhiteXKR investigated this Emerald backup camera and concluded: "... their unit still requires manual switching to the navigation screen, despite their claim of full integration." See his post #46: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-62443/page3/. I don't want to have to flip a switch whenever I shift into reverse, and I want to know that my existing OEM front and rear parking aid alerts will still function with the backup camera.

You may recognize WhiteXKR as Steve, TheJagWrangler, who created the popular DIY remote top kit for X150 convertibles. He has been working on a backup camera kit for our cars and I think he's close to completion.

I'm going to wait for Steve's backup camera kit. Based on my experience with his remote top kit, I expect his backup camera kit will be another engineering marvel.

Stuart

Aw yeah, I remember people discussing that one in a couple threads.
I'm also waiting for Steve's product, he's never done me wrong yet.

Cheers, I'll wait too. Actually what got me started was to see whether you could replace the whole head unit, but I suppose that'll never be doable.

I have an aftermarket rear view camera in my truck. It is set to come on automatically when I place it in reverse... But... For a few weeks that feature was broken and I had to manually switch it--it was a real pain. Still better than nothing in tight spaces with a big truck, but not convenient at all.
