Default Badging on the 2013 XJ/L...

Looks like they have added the word "Jaguar" below the leaper on the boot lid, and the engine displacement as well.

Are these options, or do they badge all the 13 cars this way - anyone know?

The "Jaguar" may be a bit much, but I sort of like the engine displacement badge.

I know some people are having their XJ's completely de-badged...

It's standard on all models now. My take is, they are focusing on branding. I personally don't like it - too much going on in the back.

Very easy to de-bage it though. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...removal-80109/

Took the XK off the back of my car the day I got it.

I added both the "Jaguar" and the "5.0" badging to my 2012. I think it looks good. They cost $60 each from the dealer.

For the life of me I can not figure out why some people debadge. I saw a large Mercedes yesterday with no badging, all blacked out, including the tail lights, wheels, window frames, everything. To me it looked like an old car with a cheap paint job, hardly any differentiating contrasts of features visible.

For me, it's easier to detail without the badges. It looks more streamlined and pure without the model badges (I keep the centered emblems or badges that are pinned on). Who cares if my car is 2.4, S, Limited, AWD, V8...? If they do, they already know what it is with or without me "wearing it on my sleeve".

I am sure I am in the minority of car fans. Granted an BMW M or Audi S does look out-of-place without the badge...
