Battery exposure
Hey guys, .....
With the help of you blokes, I was able to expose my battery for the world to see. The thing I fretted the most was the dislodging of the top retractable slider protector. Once I put the bonnet up, let the slider retract, I could see where on each side, at the rear corners there, are two flap looking plastic pcs. They popped up...Wa-lah! Out comes the slider...easy-peasy.
I only had two of the luggage type screws thingys to remove, as it seems a PO or dealer lost the bottom two.
It looks like the OEM battery?...it's 2014 the car was purchase new late 2007....Yikes! However, I will say, the battery in my XJR, many of you may recall this, was 9 years old before the car went into dashboard hysterics last summer. That makes this one a middle aged battery LOL!

A well-exercised battery can last a long time - but as they get older, they tend to become prone to sudden collapse. If you keep 'em charged, they're fine, but if they ever get run down too far, they die. Just for the peace of mind, I'd change that one.
