Exclamation Big trouble if your Jag carpet is wet

I recently discovered a wet area on the passenger-side carpet in my '08 XK. Learned through the forum that it is caused by a plugged up drain line for the air conditioning system. Water will collect in the fan-motor housing and overflow. As I found out, the water got deep enough to reach the fan motor and caused it to fail. Expensive to replace the motor and to correct the drain problem. Search the forums to get more info.

I've moved your thread from General Tech Help to X150 forum. This is the place for technical posts about your model.

There are several threads and solutions on this forum dealing with clogged drain hose issue. suggest you type in clogged drain hose or a similar term in the search box at the above right hand corner and do some reading. You will find several different solutions to your problem. Good luck!!

The XK/XKR is not the only model with a similar drain system for the A/C. The small duckbill hose is used across models and can cause a similar problem. In addition, i was not asking for a solution. My Jag dealer already replaced the blower motor and I had a specialty shop install an alternate drain line using a bigger, stronger hose.
