Default Bilstein shocks

Dealer told me yesterday that the 2011 xk I just bought had sport suspension with Bilstein shocks. I have the build sheet on this car and there is no mention. Is there a suspension option available on this car?
Thanks for all the welcomes, and ideas.
Bill

Dunno who makes 'em, but there isn't a 'sports suspension' option, just the standard variable shocks. There is the 'Dynamic Pack' which includes a lowered suspension with different front uprights, but I believe the shocks are the same, just running different Active Dynamic software. Maybe someone fitted an aftermarket system.

can you retrofit this to a "normal" xkr 5,0?

Theoretically, yes, you could fit the parts - but I suspect you might have trouble getting hold of them. Also, I know that the Dynamic Pack has a different software build and/or suspension maps to the standard XKR, and I have not been able to find anyone who can do a custom software load into the Active Damping Control Module. I've been looking into it because, although my 75 has the same hardware as the Dynamic Pack and the XKR-S, the software is an earlier version. But I can't find anyone who can load the R-S software into my ADCM.

The stock shocks are Bilstein and the F-type derived Dynamic shocks I received with my coil overs were also built by Bilstein.

Default tire pressure???

Thank all of you for the info on the Bilstein shock question. Yesterday I checked air pressure in my XK with 19" and found 41 pounds in all tires. I reset pressure to 33 front and 36 rear per door panel instructions. I haven't driven yet but has to help ride.

Yup, that'll make a change! But I hope you've written that backwards - it should be 36 front, 33 rear.

Ngarara, thank you so much for your reply. I can tell from your number of posts that you are right about the tire pressures 36 front and 33 rear..........all my life I've been told the opposite....to always have lower pressure in front for softer ride. Share with me the reason for higher pressure in front. I would like to know.
Thanks again for your help

To be honest, I don't know why - that's what is written on the sticker on the door (I double-checked before I posted). I'm guessing that there's a lot more weight over the front. Also, my fronts are 255/35 whereas the rears are 295/30; perhaps the difference in profiles and overall volume makes a difference.

I have always set the rears to a higher pressure as well.

I guess you should go with what is on the car. Although they differ, the workshop manual and specification guide both have it the more normal way round for XK's and XKR's.

The specification guide has both at 36 for the Speed Pack cars.

Ok, that's just feckin' barmy - either I'm going blind/bonkers (always a possibility), or the spec is backwards on my door label. I checked it recently before doing tyre checks and then looked again last night before I posted, just to be sure. I'm going to take yet another look at the label, and get a photo this time.

Once I have the evidence, if things don't match, I'm going to pester Jag.

Right, I'm not crazy - the door label contradicts the spec sheet provided by u102768:

So, now I don't know which is correct. Time to bug the Jag rep...

In the meantime, because it may take a while to get a sensible answer, can some of you check the labels on your doors?

Mine matches the workshop manual listing.

Yours may be like it is because the rear tyres are 295's whereas all the other documentation only goes up to 285's.

I run 38 front and 36 rear hot for handling. The rears need more traction coming out of turns so the slightly lower pressure helps with traction. Keep in mind my pressure settings are 100% performance based. I'll vary the hot pressure a bit depending on the track and conditions.

Is that a different list that the one that you posted above? That shows 33 front, 36 rear.

Yeah, I wondered about that. We'll see what the cat people say...

I didn't explain it very well in my original post but if you look at the image again, the table titled 'Tire Pressures' at the bottom is from the workshop manual and I pasted it over the top of the page from the technical guide.

That bit from the workshop manual shows 30/33, same as my car.

Right, the response from Jaguar is:

Please follow the Jaguar specification sheet.
However, as u102768 pointed out, my car's tyre combo isn't listed on the spec sheet (255/35 front, 295/30 rear). So I'm still none the wiser.
