Here is my trim. Not too bad. Next time I will get the gloss one to match the mirror trim that I painted. Now there is nothing silver on the car at all. Also, when I peeled off a portion, it DID take off the paint from the trim.
was it a DIY @gkubrak ? I'm assuming it's vinyl and not paint as you mention you peeled a piece. Was the trim removed or done in situ? How wide and log was the vinyl? How did you get it down below the A pillar? Was there enough room just opening the door? Any other tips and tricks?

Yes DIY. Yes vinyl. In-situ. Measure the trim to get an approx length, I forget how long it was but make sure you have some extra also incase you scrap a piece. Same with width, get something an inch wide at the minimum. Opening the door helps and you can get a finger/plastic tool in there as well.
Other suggestions:
- wipe the trim with alcohol prior to application (very important otherwise it will peel off easily)
- get yourself a plastic trim tool/application squeegee
- don't try 1 piece all the way around the rear window, just use 2 separate strips and cut them in a single, overlapping common point
- use your fingers to smooth out the vinyl, then use the trim tool to 'tuck' the vinyl into the edges, then use a razor to cut off the excess
- use a heat gun or hairdryer for the corners
- cut the strip into (3) predetermined lengths, then peel the backing little by little as you progress over the work area
I used to own a shop so we painted the trim gloss black. IMO gloss black matches the rest of the car and the windows. It was about 5 years ago now and still looks great. If I had to redo it now (not having my shop) I'd wrap it, its easier to DYI and you can take it off whenever you like.
I learned something I never knew. The black door and window trim was only offered on coupes with the black pack and not on convertibles with the black pack. All convertibles with the black pack or variation of it never came with the door and window trim in black.
