Default Boot trim

Quick question about the boot trim/lining.

Mine is just sat and is floating about, I know there is a wide headed push clip underneath however, does the lining go underneath the seal strip or into it?

I don't have anyone with an xk near me I can check with. So if anyone has the time to take some good clear photos and post them it would be most appreciated.

Thanks

I think this is one area where Jaguar was sloppy in their fitment. You have a coupe so I can’t comment on it specifically, but on my convertible, the lining fits under the seal just barely in most places, and in others it doesn’t reach far enough to get under the seal, you can see the metal body in the gap, so it looks sloppy.

Many thanks for letting me know. I think I am going to get some u trim, a bit like a door seal and some adhesive backed velcro. Put the u trim over the edge of the lining so it looks tidy and the velcro will be stuck to the back and the panel.

Make it neat.
