Default Boot/Trunk release button fixing?

Could anyone who has had the chrome finisher off tell me how the button is secured to the finisher? My button is loose-ish and starting to recede into the void. Will I have to remove the finisher to deal with this (I assume so)? Is it likely to be a case of simply re-seating it or are there clips in there that have broken?

It's obviously not a crisis since there are three other ways to open the boot but I noticed it today when I was replacing the number plate lamps with LEDs and I do fret about these things...

I fancied replacing the finisher since mine has scratches above the button area, but then I noticed it was over £200...
