Question Bra?

Can't seem to locate a protective bra for the 2007+ XK's, I've tried everywhere on the net but no luck, the dealership wants to spray on some kind of clear coating but I'd prefer not to have that as I only need the bra for limited uses. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Do a clear bra. Most of them use a 3M film that is like thick cling wrap. I had one put on the XKR as soon as I got it. I've also had one on my other cars as well. My Z's clear bra has had 9 excellent years of bouncing rocks off the front. Still no rock chips, tho the bra has a couple of scuffs on it.

Only think with clear film is it's pain when it comes clay bar and detailing.

I've had clearbra on my Lex. and it was great (yes the clay bar and waxing required an extra step (painters tape along the clear-bra line) but I had a chip free front end and enjoyed it. I will get it on my Jag once I get a few bills paid off. Bout $400 (US) for just the nose and mirrors.

Have you ever seen the paint surface under a bra after extensive use? Grit trapped underneath wears away the paint, not a pretty sight.

But for occasional use on dirt or rocky roads and such, I guess it would be OK.

Just remember that you are putting sandpaper on your paint every time you use it.

It's a little extra time for cleaning the clear bra edges, but not much. It's well worth it IMHO.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I actually just wanted something for occassional drives where bugs and rocks may be a problem, I would not leave the bra on for any extended period.
