Have an XKR ordered and would like to get the brake calipers painted professionally. Live in the Dallas metroplex, but the auto body shops don't do this type of work. Any suggestions?

 

Surely there are some custom pro shops around big D, Go to the places that deal with the rice burners..they have all sorts of line up of people that would know where you can get it done., I know we have em up here in OKC....I personally would paint them myself with some Caliper paint in a rattle can..I see it on ebay all the time.

I had a 94 Sunbird I called the Purple Love Rocket.

 

Find a shop who can do powder coating....that would be the way to go. If you ever decide to try it yourself, I used foliatec paint caliper.

 

Looks nice. I was going to paint mine (I only have an XK) but I've decided to leave them alone for now.

 

I painted my calipers, about 30 days ago, with Rust-Oleum "Hammered" spray paint, on the car with minimum prep. L00ks great if you want factory new look.

Contrary to conventional wisdom you do not need special caliper paint if you are not on the track and drive below 100 mph. This product requires no primer. Merely clean calipers with Brake Cleaner, carefully mask off the disk, etc and have at it. Available at Wall mart.

 

Actually, a more common phrase is "crotch rocket". Very apt.

Wheel technology in farmers branch will do them for you. They powder coated my wheels for me about a month ago and were great to work with and did it in two days. What color are you doing them?
