Funny. I just paid ~$800 (CAD) for OE pads and rotors, installed with service on the callipers. Another ~$100 for the oil change and filter.
And I don't think that exorbitant.
Lots of options for aftermarket rotors/pads. I went with Cquence rotors and Akebono Euro premium carbon ceramic pads. Very pleased with both. For street driving the carbon ceramic pads stop just as well as OEM pads. They don't really need much heat to bite. A little less brake dust as well.
I went with Cquence as they machine the slotted/drilled rotors themselves (rotors come from Aisa as do most rotors these days). They machine the rotos for the left and right side unlike some you find. Performance Brake Rotors | Brake Pads & More Brake Parts | Cquence.net
Here's one of my fronts installed:

Excellent:
OK..
How long did it take you, and what was the total cost?

What are the members feelings toward ceramic brake pads, as opposed to the semi metallic ones?
I used Zimmerman rotors and Bosch Ceramic Pads from AUTOHAUSAZ on my 09 SV8, $362.87 in 2021. Perfect. No dust. I haven't needed rotors on the 07 XKR, but put on Centric Ceramic Posi Quiet pads all round. Again, no dust.
I've used both these brand pads before and they've always provided good service and very little dust. Break them in easy and after 500 miles, I can't tell any difference in braking. Of course, I'm not doing full on instrumented testing. I've always been pleased with the results and it's generally the first job I do on a new to me car. SL500 sitting in the garage waiting on her Brembo ceramic pads. Another good brand.

Thank you
Sorry for the delay in getting back. Got busy with yard work.
To remover old rotors, install new and replace pads, it was about 2 hrs. for the fronts and the same for the rears. So about 1 hr. per wheel. I'm sure that also included in raising the car on the lift and removing wheels). As for price, it was nearly 2 years ago so I'm sure parts have gone up. And labor rates are going to depend on shop and location.

I just replaced the rear pads on mine last weekend and it took about an hour on one side as I bumbled around trying to remember how to do it (my Lotus brakes work different and I did all of those the week prior)and then about half an hour to do the other side. Last summer I did all new pads and rotors, and it took all day but I didn't know how to use the brake caliper tool so most of it was spent fighting the rears (which I didn't do right, leading to it frying the rear pads) and getting the old rotors off
I bought the Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors, which they didn't have fitment officially for the XKR 5.0 but they did officially have for the F-Type and are the same thing. I really liked them when I had my Corvette and they are relatively cheap. For pads I used EBC Redstuff all around, but when I changed the rear pads over the weekend I went to Yellowstuff instead to push some of the brake bias backward a bit and increase initial bite.
