Default Buzzing-Motorized sound in rear of car

Any help appreciated: I have this motorized sound (3 second brrrrr) that comes from the rear wheel area. It sounds like a small motor coming on for the suspension or something? I hear it when mainly when accelerating and RPM is at about 1500. Does it in neutral also if I push on accelerator. It sound just like a small electric motor performing some function in rear of car.

Default 2007 xkr

Jagtech, it's a 2007. The motorized sound ONLY happens when the accelerator is pressed at about 1000-1500 rpm. Comes from rear driver wheel well. I can make the sound in neutral when pressing accelerator also. It sounds like s small motor and always last 2 seconds and shuts off. Happens every acceleration.
